The Twilight franchise is shaking things up. Terminator: Salvation and Spiderman 3 star Bryce Dallas Howard will be taking over the role of Victoria in the upcoming third installment of the Twilight series, Eclipse. She is replacing the original Victoria, Rachelle Lefevre, who played the role in both Twilight and New Moon. The press release about the switch stated that Lefevre had no choice but to give up the role due to "scheduling conflicts with another commitment the actor has made." The women both look quite similar so the switch doesn't seem to be that noticable, but how will die-hard fans feel?
Apparently American Apparel CEO Dov Charney is making a new fashion statement in his stores...ugly people can't work in retail. Charney is reportedly firing employees whom he believes tarnish the "AA aesthetic."
According to the stores' employees, worldwide conference calls are held each week so that the managers can rant about their store's profit, displays, and etc. Although lately, Carney has started a crusade "and made stores that weren't doing so well send in group photos," for the purpose for him to judge who is hott enough to stay and who must go. It appears that most managers are following his request in fear of losing their own positions. I don't know about you but I think 'til further notice I'll be spending my money at another store.
Is the Miss Universe pageant desperate to fill the entertainment slot of their show or what? This year's airing of the the pageant will feature a "special" performance by "Hills" star Heidi Montag!
According to Access Hollywood, Heidi will be performing her song "Turn Ya Head," off her album Unleashed at this year's Miss Universe Pageant. Other performers include Flo Rida and Kelly Rowland with French DJ David Guetta.
Heidi told MTV News, "I've wanted to do music since I could talk," she said. "I used to do plays and singing and voice lessons and practice Britney routines when I was, like, 12. This is the biggest dream of my life. I just love making fun music, like Lil Wayne," she said. "He'll do a rock song, and then he'll do a rap song. I get to choose my own songs. It's something I love doing. I'm having so much fun doing it, and it's not too much pressure. It's more on my own."
Will you be checking out Heidi's performance? I know I want to see her public embarassment first-hand myself.
Footage has surfaced from an undercover PETA employee showing that Ringling Brothers' elephant trainers abuse the elephants, using bull hooks to beat the animals across the head, legs, and body.
PETA vice president Daphna Nachminovitch stated that the undercover agent "witnessed these elephants being beaten for no apparent reason."
Ringling Bros. have refrained from commenting saying they have yet to view the video, but it was stated that "PETA is an animal rights extremist group…We are very proud of our animal care, we are committed to the care of all our animals partly through our conservation programs at the Ringling Bros. Center for Elephant Conservation…We have 139 years of experience of working with Asian elephants." You be the judge.
If you, like me, are a Grey's Anatomy fan and still wondering the real reason T.R. Knight got the axe this past season, wonder no more. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Knight spoke all about the real motives behind his exit from the hit show.
Apparently it all comes down to the series creator, Shonda Rimes. Rimes drastically cut his screen time, appearing only for 48 mins. in the season's first 9 episodes. Knight stated, “No other series regular’s character had ever disappeared like mine did this past season.”
Things all first started going south after the Isiah Washington incident, where Washington used an anti-gay slur against T.R.. It took Rimes 3 monthes to publicly condemn Washington. Knight also claims that Rimes was one of many who wanted him to stay in the closet, and him outing himself only strained their relationship more.
Knight states, “My five-year experience proved to me that I could not trust any answer that was given [about his character, George]. There just comes a time when it’s so clear that moving on is the best decision.” And Knight is doing just that. He is moving on to theater, and leaving Greys in the past.
