Japan's incoming first lady, Miyuki Hatoyama, has written a memoir, called Very Strange Things I've Encountered, in which she recounts a close encounter she had twenty years ago. She says, "While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO, and went to Venus. It was a very beautiful place, and it was really green."
Hatoyama says that her husband, Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, believes the experience was real. This isn't the first outlandish claim Hatoyama has made. Last year, she told a British TV show that she met a Japanese Tom Cruise in a previous life, and she engages in a practice called "eating the sun," a ritual where she scoops the energy from the sun into her mouth with her raised arms.
