Titanic Dwarfed by Largest Cruise Ship Ever - 5 Times Larger Than Titanic!
In the land where cruise ships are born, Denmark; the world's largest cruise ship began it's voyage to it's port of call in Port Everglades Florida. Named the Oasis of the Seas it set out for Florida to begin serving what will most likely be a predominant American market.
It is 5 times larger than the Titanic, 20 stories tall, when stood on end it's taller than the Chrysler building and Eiffel Tower and it cost 1.5 billion.
Inside it features 7 separate zones called neighborhoods. It has a ice rink, a small golf course and four swimming pools. There are volleyball courts, basketball courts, and youth theme parks.
Serving it's potential 6,300 passengers are 2,100 crew members. It has over 2700 cabins with some luxury suites featuring lofts. Gone are the days of cramped quarters.
To cap it off, there is a 750 seat out-door Greek themed amphitheater at the stern. Other novelties include a bar that moves up down three decks.
The Oasis of the Seas is owned by Royal Caribbean International and built by STX Finland.
