Dr. Murray Pleads Not Guilty to Michael Jackson's Death
Dr. Murray pled not guilty today to the charges of involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. Jackson's death, as determined by the L.A. County Coroner's Office, was a result of Propofol intoxication. Dr. Murray prescribed the drug, along with others, to Jackson just before he died.
After the 25 minute hearing, Murray was taken into custody with a bail set at $75,000. According to TMZ, Murray cannot be in possession of or prescribe anesthetics, specifically Propofol. Murray had to hand over his passport at the end of the hearing - all of this in front of Jackson's parents and other family members.
The judge told Murray plain and simple, "I do not want you sedating people," but the medical board called him a "danger to the public". The board hoped that the judge would stop Murray from practicing medicine all togehter, but the judge didn't go that far. Dr. Murray is set to be in court again April 5th.
